Bobgoblin – Love Lost For Blood Lust
Just from seeing the cover, you kind of know what to expect with Bobglobin’s love lost of blood lust. But, then it would be too early to judge just by that. So here are my song per song review on this masterpiece.
FEEL NO PAIN – Upbeat sound which is quite sarcastic from the title and the song itself. Feel no pain connotes a feeling after a very devastating life events. It shows how someone that experienced a lot of obstacles in life can overcome everything by putting everything that doesn’t matter at the back of their life. The song is quite short, but very fruitful in meaning. I rate the song 9 out of 10.
DANGER – has a more rocker theme on this song. Heavy on the guitar and instrumentals. It is a warning on living life. So brace up, for it will be really a bumpy ride. So, if you feel like doing some reality check, this is indeed your song. 10 out of 10 for this great creation.
WAITING FOR THE SUN – The song has a mix of rock and house type of music in terms of rhythm. Sun represents light/enlightenment. I kind of related in this song big time. So, it is a 10 out of 10 for me.
SOMETHINGS I WANT TO SAY – It is a pretty chill sounding song about a person that is being brought upon somewhere or something his/her heart is not in. A typical event for anyone who are forced to do something they do not want, and just wanted to break free. I expected the bridge part of the song to be more upbeat or higher note, but it was okay. I rate the song 8 out of 10.
WHITE LINES – The lyrics are very few, which makes it easy to memorize. Lyrics are breaking on some part of the song which if fine. I find the song a bit more political in nature, but that is just me. I rate this 7 out of 10.
HIDE FROM TOMORROW – The first part of the song sounded a bit gloomy, but it improves in the latter part. The song is about the past hunting one in the present. Quite heavy on the music compared to other songs in the album, but it is really expressive and impressive. I give it a 9 out of 10.
FIGHTING MACHINES- Now this song is heart strong. Good beats that pumps your heart while listening through. I rate it 9 out of 10 as well.
EULOGY FOR POOR DANIEL – Well, the title speaks for itself. Besides the lovely tune, I believe it is worthy eulogy to be played as a song. I would love to have one dedicated for me. Nothing sad but all happy memories accompanied by a rocking rhythm. A good way to bid the world bye. I rate this song 10 out of 10.
TURN GEARS TURN – Sounded like a growing old couple song. I love the lyrics, though I think the melody was a bit sad and doesn’t blend well with the song’s message. Oh right! It is a “how-was-it-supposed-to-be” kind of song. The kind of song you loop on Saturday blues. I rate this song 10 out of 10.
FROM THE HILL – Quite a lengthy lyric song. The vocals is a bit lesser in volume compared to other songs in the album or maybe the guitar is just so on point that it over shadows it. Nonetheless, it is a very heartfelt rhythm. 7 out of 10 for this song.
ETERNAL SNOW – Well, just like the second name of the title, this song is a bit cold. So with the melody. It is one of those tunes that you don’t actually celebrate on. 10 out of 10 for this masterpiece.
I KNOW A PLACE – Maybe the place is Nirvana? Wherever it is, it should be far far far from reality. I like how the lyrics was incorporated with the rhythm. Another 10 out of 10 for this song.
All in all, the song scored 8.5 out of 10. It is definitely worth $9 for digital album. A good song to reflect on the past. Analyze the present, and rethink of the future.
