Intro: Evolove is a 5 member rock band who hails from the Los Angeles area. Band members include: Lucy Levinsohn (vocals), Billy Berman (bass), Dave C (Guitar), Colby Jensen (Guitar), Andrew Carroll (Drums). This is their fourth album to date entitled “We are the Warriors” (2014) released by Spectra Records.

Evolove appears to be surging yet again making quite a name for themselves regionally and nationally. To date the band has released three studio albums with the fourth slated to be released later this year; 2012: Countdown to the End (EP), Breaking Heartstrings in (EP), Acoustic Sessions Vol. 1 (LP) and the band’s upcoming album, We Are The Warriors that will feature 12 tracks. The album is set to release mid-2015 with the first single “Warriors” slated for a Worldwide digital release on February 10. Produced by Mikey Doling (Channel Zero, Soulfly and Snot), it was mixed by Brian Virtue (Audioslave, 30 Seconds to Mars, Deftones), Gerald Jans (Channel Zero) and Gus Cyrns (Get Scared, The Acadamy Is). The music video to be released along with Warriors demonstrates what Evolove is all about—bringing people together through their music. Hundreds of fans submitted personalized photos, making this one of the band’s most unique videos. This is one band that’s received critical acclaim from many prominent music critics thus far in their musical career.

This latest release “We are the Warriors” is their latest 12 track release and the result though far from a self-indulgent ego trip, rather a moving and elegiac artistic statement from start to finish. This is not your overly predictable Ramon Noodle Pop Rock Female fronted rock band. Evolove goes much deeper than that. In-fact Evolove could even be classed as a 3 genera artist: Alternative Rock, Hard Rock, and even what I call Epic or Theatrical Rock. Evolove has way too much precision and clarity to live in the shadows of overly-predictable Radio Rock. Indeed this is clearly evident in songs like the title track, “Everything’s Falling”, “Do or Die” and 3 Cheers” which methodically ups he ante to a very respectable level of catchy musical expression and craftsmanship that transcends typical pigeonholing. The music is also commercially viable with a fresh sound and an entertaining vibe that makes a real connection with the listener. All pieces within this album hold the attentions span of the listener perfectly. In a nutshell this is Seether meets Xandria. I can also hear After Forever, Delain, The Pretty Rockers and Stream and Poison within the musical fabric layered within the music. As a singer Levinsohn could be compared to many of the above artists. She also has a good visual making her extremely marketable any way you look at her. These are compliments of the highest order. The 13 song line-up also comes fully loaded and appeals to many listeners with a wide variety of musical styles.

My favorite tracks are: No More Excuses, Spare Me, Do Or Die, Everything’s Falling, Won’t Give Up

Conclusion: I would imagine in time we will hear more from this amazing band in the near future. No doubt they are doing all the right things and now are signed to SPECTRA RECORDS. Evolove has carved a marketable niche for themselves thus far setting things up for even more marketable success down the road. I would not be surprised to hear this music featured in a major Motion Picture or TV Series one day. But for now I can honestly say this is one 5 member band that clearly gives you a clairvoyant snapshot that is highly original, uplifting and dare I say brilliantly catchy in scope.

Final Rating: 4.5/5 Stars
