FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Parkville, Maryland – May 26, 2020 – Left-Over have been rocking together for the better part of three decades and have yet to lose their momentum with their latest release, ‘Empty Shell.’
Two more than a dozen tracks deep, ‘Empty Shell’ kicks things into high gear right off the bat with “Can You Tell Me.” With a style that blends the classic rock sound that many would find along the Sunset Strip in the ‘80s and the rock of an arena today, Left-Over find a great balance between the then and now of the genre as they deliver pulsating anthems in songs like “Hey Everybody” and “Shame On You.” They also serve up a lot of heart in the likes of “Home” and “For a Lifetime.” While songs like “Little Left” and “I Moved On” have a ‘90s alt-rock feel to them that serves as a pleasant addition to the record overall.
The eclectic mix of styles and sounds is rooted in the members themselves. Each of the five talented men that make up Left-Over come from musical backgrounds, but each took a varied path to get to where they are today.
Jack (guitar, backing vocals) first learned guitar as a teen in Baltimore. Soon enough he was writing lyrics. Today he’s amassed well over 200 original songs that serve as the backbone of Left-Over alongside Brian’s (drums) diverse musical palette that spawned not only from behind a drumkit from an early age but was driven home thanks to the inspiration of his Uncle Bobby who happened to be an accomplished jazz drummer. Donnie (bass) also had his uncle to thank for introducing him to music. He started playing in bands as a teen and continued to find solace in music while serving four years in the US Navy. He isn’t the only one with military experience in the band though, Scott (lead/backing vocals, keys) served in the wake of 9/11. Today he’s an accomplished Army Lieutenant Colonel, veterinarian, and Ph.D. pharmacologist. Rounding out this fierce five is Johnny (guitar, piano, backing vocals), a man who has been mastering his instrument since the age of five.
While each of their pasts has presented various differences, what has bound them for over 30 years is their masterful way with music. Audiences have loved taking in their unique style time and time again and will continue to do so for as long as they can.
