The month of October has always been reserved for the darker things in life thanks to Halloween. It’s a month very fitting for the release of Noctomb’s latest, “Obulus for Charon.” This Black Metal record is for those who live to headbang and thrash. It opens with adrenaline thanks to “Bokor.” It’s the music that really keeps listeners pumped and ready for more, especially with the pulsating ways of “Spectral Figures” and “Illusions.” It’s the title track “Obulus for Charon” though that really gets you with the menacing vocals. Closing things out is “Beethoven’s Butcher,” a song that has really relies heavy on the rock. It’s clear that Nate, Matt and Patrick have a firm grip on what they’re doing because this is a record any metal fan would be proud to own. If you like your music hard, rocking and dark – check out Noctomb’s “Obulus for Charon,” out now. (https://noctomb.bandcamp.com/album/obulus-for-charon)
