Poet Dadisi recently did an interview for his CD Release. Here is an excerpt:  “I never called myself a singer. That’s not what I love doing. I’m a poet who enjoys writing poetry. One night I was at my sister Clarissa’s who we call Buddy, house in Charleston, South Carolina. We were in her living room eating, drinking, and listening to some music, I heard some music beats coming from upstairs. I asked her, “What was that?” She said that it was her son, Deli D, working on his music…I told him that I have a song in my head and would like to I give it a try? “Yeah Uncle go for it.” I first sang the “Island Girl” song to him so that he could have an idea where I was coming from. Once he came up with the beat I went inside the closet and sang my song. When I was done he had recorded the song and played it back to me, I was flabbergasted. I was shocked and very happy the way I sounded. He was also happy. He gave me a copy of “Island girl.” For years I carried that song in my head and now I had the disc for my song in my hand. I hugged and thanked him. I went back downstairs and shared the song with my sister, Buddy, we danced to my music.”
