Shotgun Rebellion rocks for the outlaws out there, not only in Oklahoma City but everywhere. “Lost My Way” is like Rob Zombie meets classic hard rock. There’s nothing showy about it, it’s not about the shock value – just the rock and roll. The guitars are pounding and the rest follows suit. “Roll On” showcases more of the vocals than the last, while “Train of Pain” completely throws you for a loop. It’s the power ballad of the tracks and while a lot of rock bands have them, it’s never not unexpected. That one really showed off the vocals, but in a different way. Then things are picked back up with “Won’t Back Down.” If you’re a fan of bands like Black Sabbath, check out Shotgun Rebellion. (https://www.reverbnation.com/shotgunrebellion)

This is a song list that’ll grab you by the wedding vegetables and not let go until the end of the 4th or 5th tune. The guitar lead and rhythm are worthy of being accused of stealing a page from Zakk Wylde’s book of genius. The bass riffs and hard driving drum licks just complement the ensemble, turning it into the total package.
On the other side of the coin, they do justice to the easy side of metal, throwing a few toned-down, but, still sharp edged numbers that remind you even the Gods of rock had to pull in the reins or bust their veins. I’m sure if Dime was still with us, he’d give his blessing to this quartet and would probably have to sit in and bend a string or three.
Now, with the addition of former Texas Hippie Coalition guitarist Wes Wallace in the lineup, you’ll be wanting to reevaluate your CD library and make some space for one of the most dangerous bands in the country.
All in all, this is a great offering and SGR is definitely earworthy. Your ipod will never be the same. They’re the band you always wished would crash the high school prom.
Hell, who says they won’t?
