Sons of Origin ReviewA couple years ago Sons of Origin dropped a self-titled record and it’s stellar from start to finish. How could it not be when it kicks off with a powerhouse like “Nothing Left To Lose?” The first track has a positive energy that’s undeniable. One could hear this playing on a mixtape alongside the likes of Train and OneRepublic. From a energetic start to a calm track like “Mornings In New York.” Those who have never been would think that a morning in the Big Apple would have more pep in its step, but instead this song showcases the small things that outsiders would overlook. There’s a beauty in the simplicity and reality of it. Sons of Origin start to pick things back up towards the middle of the record with “Stranded.” It’s fun while “Falling Down” takes us down a more serious path. Rounding out the album is “Hold On.” I would’ve liked for them to end like they started, but it’s just as well. “Stranded” doesn’t have the same energy as “Nothing Left To Lose,” but it’s just as strong overall.
