Coming from the city of peace and love back in the day is the Bluegrass and Americana ways of The New Thoreaus and their record “Sinners On the Take.” The title track sounds like it’s from the days of sepia tone home movies and has this indie feel to it as well. “Weight of the Matter” has a lighter feel than the last with the addition of a new set of feminine pipes at the helm helping to move things along. Once you get to “Pilgrims” you get this very folk vibe and then you round out the record with “Watchdogs” the female vocal takes the lead and you get a whole different feel.
