Cos Cob, Connecticut – October 12th, 2021 – Up-and-coming artists Valerie Ahneman and Jay Sweeney are incredible forces to be reckoned in the world of music. With the help of multiple collaborations and years of working together, both artists have gained sufficient experience when it comes to coming up with unique and catchy tunes. Jay has just released a brand new single titled “The Thanksgiving Day”, on which both the artists worked together.
“The Thanksgiving Day” was originally meant to be sung by Valerie Ahneman, but Jay Sweeney delivered such an amazing performance in his version that the duo decided to release that as the official single. Being in the music industry for quite a while now, both the artists got together in the studio a few years back and started making music in collaboration. They have been working together for more than 10 years now and have even performed together in the NY tri-State area. Apart from “The Thanksgiving Day”, Valerie Ahneman and Jay Sweeney have also released a full-length album together. Going by the name of ‘Christmas With a French Twist’, the album was released back in 2017. Both the artists worked immensely hard on the album in collaboration with each other as Jay produced the entire album for Valerie. Available on all major music streaming platforms around the world including Spotify, iTunes, and Amazon, the album became an instant fan favorite back then and received some amazing reviews from music lovers around the world.
In addition to producing ‘Christmas With a French Twist’, Jay Sweeney also introduced one of his songs titled “I Believe in Christmas Eve” on the album. Heavily dominated by rich themes of Pop music, “I Believe in Christmas Eve” is one of the most popular songs on the album. The 10 Holiday Classics on the album are all rearranged by Jay Sweeney for Valerie. One of the tracks from the album titled “O’ Christmas Tree” was also selected to be in an upcoming Christmas Movie in 2021. The duo also recorded an earlier album titled ‘A La Mode’ with unique twists on well-known songs, whimsically mixing a range of musical styles including Funk, Pop, Latin, Reggae, Jazz, and Soft Rock.
Valerie, a Pop artist from Connecticut, was born in Paris, France and came over to the United States at the age of 17 to study Business Management. She has been involved in the financial field since graduating from college, but found herself happily immersed in a second career in 2007, pursuing a musical ambition she thought she left behind in her teens.
She formed “Bon Chic Bon Genre” in 2008, an exciting band composed of outstanding musicians from the NY Tri State area. Seasoned Musician Jay Sweeney became her Musical Director in 2010.
