FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Fredericksburg, Virginia – February 18, 2020 – Born and raised in a small town, there wasn’t too much to do as a kid when Zye Young was coming up – except music. He found sound at eight-years-old and has been making music ever since. Now he’s on the heels of releasing his fourth record, his new EP ‘I Am.’
‘I Am’ is a versatile record that takes listeners on an audible journey. With hip hop at the helm, listeners will hear everything from pop to even country influences on songs like “Batman.” What drives this record though is heart and family. Zye Young lost his brother to suicide in November 2017 and has watched friends almost take their last breaths due to drugs. Suicide prevention, as well as the drug crisis facing his peers heavily, influenced his pen when writing this new record.
A rapper who has vocal chops, Zye Young also writes and produces his music. Taking classic hip hop and infusing it with hints of pop, Latin, and Caribbean flavors is what he does best and it shows in his early successes. He’s been featured on WPGC 95.5 with DJ Tony Reddz, as well as with DJ Smallz Eyes. Zye Young also finished in the top 5 (out of over 10k submissions) of the World Star Hip Hop Competition with his video “Talk About It.”
With a few releases already to his name, Zye Young will be adding another with the release of ‘I Am’ on February 26, 2020. It’ll be the next step in his continuing efforts to build a steady platform not only for his music but to bring positivity into the world. “I want a platform where I can influence this generation, and help people on a large scale.” Not only is he working with suicide prevention programs and writing about the drug crisis, but he’s also passionate about the homeless epidemic and disadvantaged children.
